Blog Post #14 Plan for your PLN development  for 10/9

The goals of a Personal/Professional Learning Network are:
  • sustained, complex, meaningful professional learning
  • create conversations/collaborate
  • move from a consumer to a producer of inforomation
  • targeted, enjoyable, and embedded in your life.  
  • flexible (not rigid), adapts to each season and your level of learning.  

Explore these ways to find quality resources (try at least 3 of the 6 options) and choose the three places from the lists/ideas  that you think were most helpful to you. 

Ways to find good learning resources that would help with teaching content or in a lesson...
  1. Start with Mrs. Poling's livebinder and PLN buidling.... check livebinders home page for a binder on your content areas
  2. ask virtual friends who teach at:  EduPLN
  3. tweet about it in an organized chat from this list # forum  or get a #tag here from cybraryman
  4. Use the EDUBLOG awards list for finding content/grade level related blogs
  5. Pinterest

POST your plan:  
Starting Question: 
  • How will you keep track and use?  (livebinder, padlet, pinterest, #hashtags, reader list or RSS feed (Like feedly), social media (facebook, ning), blog, wiki, ...) 
  • When will you work on it? (15 minutes every other day is a great start)
  • How will you find quality ideas, information, sources? (webinar, social media posts, find one great resource stalk/lurk their favs, ...) 
  • Which of the ideas you've seen seem like a good fit for you? 
  • How will you give back or produce?  (teacher pay teachers, pinning on pinterest, tweeting great stuff, status updates, blog reviews)
    • Tools- create a slides.com, prezi, wordle, storybird, flipsnack, 
    • interactions (twitter, conversation, status updates)
